Britt Westberg La Gatta was born in San Francisco and grew up in Mill Valley and Belvedere. She graduated from The Branson School and Sarah Lawrence College, where she majored in music. After college she lived in New York City, where by night she sang with the likes of Amato Opera and NYC Grand Opera, or went to CBGB’s or Max’s Kansas City to hear music. By day she worked on Wall Street as a research librarian.
Britt returned to Marin in 1986 with husband Lou and a son in tow. Another son was born in 1990. For twelve years Britt was soprano soloist at Old First Church in San Francisco. She has been a frequent soloist with Marin Symphony Chorus in the popular Holiday Concerts at St. Raphael’s, and can be often heard locally. She has sung jazz at the Trident in Sausalito and is an in-demand session singer. She is currently a soloist with the 142 Throckmorton Chorus. She maintains an active teaching studio in Corte Madera.
In 2007 Britt & Lou founded Marin Realty Group, where Britt handles the administrative and operational sides of the business. In 2013 she earned her real estate license, and is now working with Lou and benefiting from his 20-plus years of sales and brokerage experience. Britt brings to the table an intimate and nuanced knowledge of Marin County, superior multi-tasking skills, fanatical attention to detail, strong communication skills and an inextinguishably positive attitude.
