Tiburon is located at the end of the Tiburon Peninsula, jutting from the southeastern tip of Marin County into San Francisco Bay.  Once a railroad and fishing town, Tiburon has become an affluent suburb of the City featuring upscale mid-to-late 20th century homes.  Main Street Tiburon is a charming tourist destination, accessible via ferry from San Francisco.  Commuters to the City from the peninsula can also avail themselves of quick ferry service to downtown San Francisco.

Tiburon sprawls across the hills that ring the bay, and many homes have fabulous views, including of San Francisco, Sausalito, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Mt. Tamalpais.  Angel Island State Park, a green jewel in the bay, can be seen from many homes and is quickly accessible from a ferry in downtown Tiburon for hiking and biking.  Many neighborhoods abut open space, and bike paths and beach access are plentiful.

Tiburon shares a school district with its much smaller next-door neighbor Belvedere, and is part of the Tamalpais Union High School District.
